the drive. hey, mike. >> hello, christina. hello, fog. this is san jose. 280 and highway 17. the headlights you see glowing ones northbound 280 coming up underneath that 17/880 interchange. on the maps i have drawn an arrow to show you the same stretch where we saw headlights. slowing right at the interchange. lit up orange here on my map. that's where traffic and weather index shows there's fog creeping in through that earlier shot. an issue for highway 85 much of the morning and continues to be more widespread and as that traffic flow starts to kick in for north 101 like i show you here or 87 coming into downtown, we see more slowing because of volume increasing. fog would complicate things. also an issue through the tri-valley fog there for parts of livermore and pleasanton. highway 84. although no unusual patterns here. we see typical slowing out of altamont pass. slowing across the inline for the bay bridge. look at traffic flow with a live look. you see cash lanes now coming off that bay bridge toll plaza starting to back up a tad bit. we may see metering lights in another 15 to 20 mi

[laughter] i did not make it. now i have become a bureaucratic the city of sacramento, which seems like a pretty glorious way to go. but i have met some pretty fantastic people through that. i'm eager to work with you on all of the issues that you have. there's a great staff that operates the office in san francisco. they resolve most of the problems that we could possibly face. there have been a couple that people live come -- have asked me to come down and meet with them on. i am more than happy to do that when there is something that we cannot resolve at the local level. san francisco is a place that we are very proud of. we got kicked out of our office, just by the landlord and the release. there is a lot of political pressure on us just to keep the political office closed. as most of my staff will tell you, there was really one person who thought it was the perfect idea to stay in san francisco and pay the market rent, and that was me. maybe state bureaucrats did not like that some much, but

's three mike's here so i don't know if i should put this down. um... before i start, i've had the great honor to - i love to talk at schools. k through graduate school and one question i ask children in america is i ask them how many of you have talked great detail to your grandparents or elders or fore father's about world war ii or the depression or vietnam or civil rights movement, or perhaps if your parents or grandparents came from another country and settled here what it's like. only five to ten percent of the ands come up. if i asked that same question in afghanistan or pakistan or africa 90% of ands come up and i think the as great tragedy we've lost that oral tradition and a rich tradition about folklore and heritage and faith and heritage. to honor that today i'd like to share with you a little story. it's a hard cover book that came out in march of 2006. anybody have a hard cover. wave it up here. you might not want it after i say this. i got to pick the title. three cups of tea but viking told me they would pick the subtitle and they picked one man mission to fight terrorism
